Rob Taishoff

Board President

Captain Robert P. Taishoff, JAGC, USN (ret), brings an extensive background in leadership and strategic planning to his role as President of the Board of Directors at Promise Landing Farm. Recently retired as CEO of Annapolis Yacht Sales and Service, Rob's distinguished 23-year naval career included serving as the Director of the Appellate Defense Division for Navy-Marine Corps Appellate Review Activity.

Rob's dedication to service is reflected in his numerous military awards, including the Legion of Merit, five Meritorious Service Medals, and a Joint Commendation Medal. He holds a law degree from Widener Delaware Law School and an LL.M. with highest honors from George Washington University School of Law. Rob is the President and Trustee of the Taishoff Family Foundation and established the Taishoff Center for Inclusive Higher Education at Syracuse University. He serves on the Syracuse University Board of Trustees and has held leadership roles with the National Down Syndrome Society.

Rob's commitment to Promise Landing Farm is deeply personal. His daughter Jackie, who has Down Syndrome, inspired his journey into adaptive riding. Unsatisfied with the transactional nature of other programs, Rob and his wife Kathy sought to create a more holistic and inclusive environment, leading to the founding of Promise Landing Farm. Rob's favorite aspect of the farm is its state-of-the-art facilities, which provide an inviting atmosphere for both beginner and experienced riders.

Rob believes in the importance of Promise Landing Farm for its inclusive community, serving individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities and veterans. His experience in strategic planning, team management, and fiscal oversight positions him ideally to lead Promise Landing Farm's Board of Directors, ensuring the farm continues to meet the growing demand for adaptive activities in the area.
